Lutfotja Girls on the attackLutfotja Girls on the attackThe Elephants Rugby Club held their Inter Schools Rugby Tournament at the Emcozini sports field near the town of Luve yesterday.  Four schools participated in the tournament with all four schools entering both a boys and girls sides.  Elephants Rugby Club President, Mr. Moscow Dlamini said he was pleased that the four schools made the journey and wished all eight teams good luck in the tournament.

 

 

 

 

Third Inyeti 7's Tournament date announced

The Swaziland Rugby Union have announced the date for the third Inyeti 7's Rugby Tournament.  Head Development Coach, Mario De Sousa made the announcement earlier today.  The Inyeti 7's will be played on Friday May 22nd at the usual venue the Vondo's ground in Malkerns, kick off 6pm.  At this moment in time we have three confirmed teams and we are awaiting confirmation from the fourth Club, added De Sousa.

CAR Trophy Tournament South

The Confederation of African Rugby announced the tournament dates and tournament draw for the up and coming CAR Trophy Tournament South.  The tournament to be played in Gaborone, Botswana kicks off on Monday July 20th and ends on Saturday July 25th.  Rugby Unions participating in the tournament are: Botswana, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, Swaziland Tanzania Zambia and Zimbabawe.

 

 

 

 

Rugby Union announce Training Squad

Swaziland Rugby Union President announced the National Training Squad for the up and coming Confederation of African Rugby Tournament to be held at the end of July in Gaborone, Botswana.  The thirty six man training squad will be training together for the next nine weeks with the final playing squad to be announced at the end of June.

Maqhawe & Wilson trying out their computer skillsMaqhawe & Wilson trying out their computer skillsTwo of Swaziland's up and coming Rugby players have joined the Rugby Development Team for a three weeks work experience.  Whilst working with the Development Coaches the two young players will experience every facet of a Coaches daily work schedule and undergo a Level I Coaching course and a Referee's Assistants course.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

National Trials announced

The Swaziland Rugby Union will be holding a National Trial weekend on the 9th & 10th of May.  Head Development Coach, Mario De Sousa announced the dates for the trials earlier today.  The trials are a part of the Rugby Unions preparations for the up and coming Confederation of African Rugby tournament to be held in Gaborone, Botswana in July.  We are calling all eligable players to attend the Rugby trials.  The trials weekend will be held at the Vondo's ground in Malkerns.  All players must be at the ground for 9.30am on Saturday for registration.
