Inyeti 7s Tournament attracts foreign teams

Posted inThe Swaziland Rugby Union's Inyeti 7s Rugby Tournament to be played next Friday, 24th of April has been given a boost with two foreign teams participating. Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson said he was happy to announce that a team from South Africa and a team from Mozambique will be travelling to the Kingdom to play in the Inyeti 7s. Both teams confirmed their participation today. We feel it is a testament to Swaziland Rugby Union's committment to raise Rugby awareness within Swaziland that teams are willing to make the journey and play in the Inyeti 7s, added Collinson.

Going for the try line.The Lizards from Malindza held a Coaching Day for the U/18s side on Wednesday. The Rugby Union Development Coaches brought thirty of the Malindza Lizards U/18s players together at the Malindza High Sports field. Head Development Coach, Mario De Sousa said the players called the Rugby Union asking for assistance with a Coaching Day as more and more players were becoming interested in playing Rugby, so we decided to contact the Rugby Coach at Malindza High and organise a Coaching Day.

Inyatsi Coach, Mario De Sousa said "Logan just seemed to be everywhere on the field. His defensive tackling was tremendous and he truely deserves the Man of the Match"

The big pushInyatsi the Presidents select side returned from South Africa after participating in the Barberton Rugby Day. The side Captained by Malindi Dlamini arrived back in Swaziland on Saturday night after losing 37-7 to the Riverside Rugby Club. Malinidi said the team was a little bit down with the result, but they were not out.

St Paul's with their SOS IRB Kitaid jerseysSt Paul's Methodist High didn't only walk away with the trophy at the White Rhino's Rugby Club Inter Schools Tournament. The Swaziland Rugby Union also gave out Rugby kit donated by the SOSIRB Kitaid programme. Rugby union President, Michael Collinson was at the tournament to hand out the Rugby kit to all the participants.

Teachers at the Teacher/Coaches workshop held in MalkernsThe Swaziland Rugby Union Development Coaches held a Teacher/Coaches Workshop today at the Malkerns Club ome ground of the Vondo's Rugby Club. Twenty two teachers attended the workshop which was designed to introduce aspiring Teacher/Coaches to the game of Rugby. The teachers were invited from schools in and around the Malkerns area.

St Pauls Methodist High SchoolSt Paul's Methodist High School proved too strong for the opposition on Wednesday at the White Rhino's Rugby Club Inter Schools Rugby Tournament held at the Manzini Club ground in Manzini. The round robin tournament saw St Pauls Methodist High, Hillside High and Manzini Central High schools in action for the first time.

Teachers in actionSeventeen teachers from around Manzini attended the Teacher/Coaches workshop held on Friday at the Manzini Club, home ground of the Manzini Rhino's. Steve Reynolds the Rugby Union Coaching running the workshop welcomed the teachers and thanked them for giving up their time and attending the Rugby Workshop.
