(l-r) Referee's assistant, Bongi Dlamini, referee Elroy kaye and referee's assistant Matthew du PontThe Swaziland Rugby Union announced three new referee's for the 2010 Intervarsity Games.  Rugby Union Vice President, Sibusiso Nkambule welcomed the new referee's into the Swaziland Rugby family and wished them the best of luck over the next few days during the Inter Varsity Games.  "It will be tough as all three Universities are passionate about Rugby and want to win" said Nkambule.

Inyatsi, The Presidents Select 15's side will be playing a friendly against the Edenpark Rugby Club from South Africa.  Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson announced the fixture at the Rugby Union offices today.  "This will be the first game of 2010 and we are delight that Edenpark are to make the trip to Swaziland and help us kick start the 2010 season" said Collinson.

Lesotho on the attackThe University of Botswana became the Inter Varsity Rugby Champions of 2010 when they beat the University of Lesotho 18 - 5 yesterday.  The game kicked off fast and furious with both sides out for a win.  However, the game soon turned into a war with both sides making high and late tackles.  Referee, Elroy Kaye needed all his calm and resolve to keep tempers from boiling over. 

Botswana on the attack.The game between Swaziland and Botswana kicked off yesterday on a perfect day for Rugby.  Botswana arrived early and from the start of their warm up routine it was obvious they meant business.  From the kick off the Tswana's took the game to Swaziland who seemed shell shocked at the agression and speed of the visitors.  Botswana had size and speed on the Swazi's and used them to full advantage.

The Inter Varsity Games played between, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland kicked off today at 3pm in Malkerns home of the Vondo's Rugby Club.  The first game will see the hosts Swaziland up against arch rivals, Botswana.  Swaziland Rugby Union Vice Chairman, Sibusiso Nkambule met with all three teams before the kick off of the first game and wished them all "Good luck"  The second game will be played tomorrow with Botswana taking on Lesotho and the final game will be on Wednesday with Swaziland up against Lesotho.

Khalangile Primary wearing their SOSIRBKitaid jerseysIt was all smiles at Khalangile Primary when the Development Coaches handed out SOSIRBKitaid following the Coaching Day held at the school.

Khalangile PrimaryThe Development Coaches made the short drive to Luyengo to hold a Coaching Day at Khalangile Primary school.  Although the coaches have been to the school last year, head teacher, Mr. Matsebula invited them back to help sports teacher Mrs. Mtsetwa with a Rugby Coaching Session.  The whole school turned out to participate, so after a long discussion and promises that the coaches will return, fourty pupils were selected take part in todays session.

Development Coach, Naomi du Pont with pupils from Tshaneni Primary in their SOSIRBKitaidTshaneni Primary school were the latest school to receive a SOSIRBKitaid donation.  Following a Coaching Day held at the school on Friday the Development Coaches handed out Rugby jerseys and kit to the participating pupils.

Tshaneni PrimaryThe Development Coaches made the hour and a half drive down to the Lowveld to the town of Tshaneni to hold a coaching session at Tshaneni Primary school.  The coaching session was organised for the morning to try and escape the Lowveld heat, but it wasn't to be.  Head Teacher, Mr. Mduduzi Vilane welcmed the coaches and apologised for the 39c heat!!!  This didn't stop the pupils as over fifty youngsters turned out for the session.
