Salukazi Methodist PrimarySalukazi Methodist PrimaryThe Development Coaches made the journey to the town of Maliyaduma to hold a Coaching Day at Salukazi Methodist Primary School.  On arriving at the school the Develoment Coaches were met by head teacher, Mrs. Nkosi and sports teacher, Cindi Mabuza.  Mrs. Nkosi told the Development Coaches that fourty eager pupils were at the sports field awaiting their arrival.

Rugby presentation at SSSA AGM

Naomi du Pont at the SSSA AGMNaomi du Pont at the SSSA AGMThe Swaziland Rugby Union were invited to attend the Swaziland Schools Sports Association's AGM and give a presentation to the teachers attending the meeting.  Development Coach, Naomi du Pont gave the presentation followed by a lively question and answer session.  SSSA President, Mr. Phumuza Ntshangase thanked Naomi and the Swaziland Rugby Union for taking the time to attend the meeting and showcase the game of Rugby.

Naomi 'Dups' du Pont.Naomi 'Dups' du Pont.Naomi du Pont or 'Dups' to her friends, today joined the Development Coaching Team.  Naomi has been working with the Development Coaches over the past six months and today she signed on and joined the team fulltime.  Rugby Unon President, Michael Collinson said he was delighted that Naomi had accepted the Union's offer and will be working with us fulltime.

Matthew du Pont taking the baton from ex 200m Olympian, Gcnile MoyaneMatthew du Pont taking the baton from ex 200m Olympian, Gcnile MoyaneThe Swaziland Rugby Union joined other Commonwealth Games Sporting disiplines on Saturday in the Quenn Elizabethh II Baton Relay.  The baton entered Swaziland on Friday and was carried across the country by runners from sports disciplines competing in the Games.  The baton is making its way to Delhi in India for the up and coming 2010 Commonwelth Games.  Carrying the baton for the Swaziland Rugby Union was Trainee Development Coach, Matthew du Pont.

Some of the players from LobambaSome of the players from LobambaThe Rugby Roadshow arrived in Lobamba at the OlympAfrica Sorts Centre for Day 16.  Having held three Coaching Days down in and around the town of Nhlangano in the south of the country, the Roadshow made the drive up to Lobamba in the centre for the penultimate day of the 2009/2010 New Year Rugby Roadshow.

The last Rugby game of 2009 took place in Nhlangano last week.  The Scorpions Rugby Club Teachers side from Nhlangano took on the Vondo's Rugby Club Teachers side from Malkerns.  The game was played at the SOS Childrens Village sports field.
