Naomi du Pont with the girls at the Saturday Tag RugbyThe Swaziland Rugby Union kicked off the "Girls Saturday Tag Rugby" today at the Vondo's ground in Malkerns. The aim of the Saturday Tag Rugby Coaching Days is to introduce the game of Rugby to U/16's girls. "Following on from the interest raised by the recent Vondo's Rugby Club Inter Schools Tag Tournament, we decided to hold Tag Coaching Days at the various grounds around the country" said Head Development Coach, Mario De Sousa.

Amanda Dlamini Vondo's U/14's Girls Inter Schools Player of the TournamentAt the close of the Vondo's Girls U/14's Inter Schools Tournament, it was hard to select one player as Player of the Tournament as there were several players who had an outstanding tournament. However one player had to be selected and after a long debate, the Player of the Tournament was Amanda Dlamini of tournament winners Malkerns Valley.

Posted inLions, Elephants and Wolves with their SOS IRB Kitaid Rugby kitThe Swaziland Rugby Union handed out kit donated by the SOS IRB Kitaid programme to the girls participating in the U/16's Girls Club Rugby Tournament. All the girls received socks and shorts and the top three Clubs at the tournament received Rugby jerseys.
Nontobeko Zwane takes Player of the Tournament

Posted inNontobeko Zwane with Mario, Matthew and MaswaziSaturday saw Nontobeko Zwane take Player of the Tournament at the first Womens Rugby Tournament held in Swaziland. Fifteen year old Nontobeko Zwane who plays her Rugby for the Wolves Rugby Club in Bhunya, impressed the Development Coaches with her running skills and marvellous defence. Rugby Union President Michael Collinson said it was great to see Nontobeko take player of the Tournament as her committment to Rugby is second to none.

Elephants on the attack against the WolvesSaturday November 22nd was a big day in the Swaziland Rugby Union's calander as it saw the first Womens Club Rugby Tournament played in the Kingdom. Seven Clubs participated in the Womens U/16's Club Rugby tournament played at the Malkerns Country Club home of the Vondo's Rugby Club.
