Inter Schools Rugby Tournament for Mbabane Schools

The Swaziland Rugby Union will be holding a Inter Schools Rugby Tournament for schools in Mbabane the home of the Eagles Rugby Club on Friday April 8th at the Eveni Sports Ground. Three schools will be playing in this the first of two tournaments Inter Schools Rugby tournaments to be played in Mbabane. The three schools playing on Friday are; St Marks Primary, Mqolo Primary and Enthutukweni Primary.

St Andrew's Primary player on the attackSt Andrew's Primary player on the attackThe Inter Schools Rugby Tournament played yesterday in the town of Malkerns home of the Vondo's Rugby Club was won by St Andrew's Primary School. The competition was tough with all four participating schools showing great improvement in their rugby skills. The tournament kicked off in perfect conditions at the Princess Pholile Sports Ground in Malkerns.

The Rugby Union will be holding a Inter Schools Rugby tournament tomorrow in Malkerns home of the Vondo's Rugby Club. Four primary schools will be participating in the tournament. The four schools are, St Andrews, Malkerns Valley, Mpetseni and Mahlanya Primary's.The tournament kicks off at 10am at the Princess Pholile Sports Ground

Schools Development Programme 2011 kicks off

With the schools opening on January 18th, the Swaziland Rugby Union's Schools Rugby Development Programme 2011 kicked off on Monday January 24th 2011. SRU President Michael Collinson said he was looking forward to a very exciting year of schools rugby. 2010 was an amazing year for schools rugby with the highlight being the tour to the United Kingdom by Lutfotja Primary School who were the winners of the Attie Lombard U/12's Inter Schools Tournament.

The Jackals on the attack against BirkenheadThe Jackals on the attack against BirkenheadLinkentjane the U/12's side playing in the Caldy Touraid Rugby Festival made it to the final of the tournament and met the team from Sierra Leone. Team coach Naomi du Pont was confident the Jackals would do well, but is was not to be. The final whistle blew with Sierra Leone the victors 30-0.

From Johannesburg they will fly via Abu Dhabi to Manchester and then on to the Wirral.

Team manager and teacher at Lutfotja Primary announced the team today at the Rugby Union's offices. The team which wil be known as 'Linkentjani' (meaning jackal in SiSwati) was selected from the fifteen boys who made up the winning team in the Attie Lombard Rugby tournament.
