Fifty two players turn out for National Trials

Posted inThe Rugby Union held the first National Trials on Saturday in preparation for the up and coming CAR D Division Rugby Tournament to be held in Arusha Tanzania at the end of June. Fifty two players from the rugby clubs within Swaziland turned out for the trials. Head Development Coach Naomi du Pont welcomed the players to the trials and thanked them for making the time and to being committed to playing for Sizeze the National Team.
Players called to National Training Session

Botswana win Inter Varsity Rugby

Lesotho on the attackThe University of Botswana became the Inter Varsity Rugby Champions of 2010 when they beat the University of Lesotho 18 - 5 yesterday. The game kicked off fast and furious with both sides out for a win. However, the game soon turned into a war with both sides making high and late tackles. Referee, Elroy Kaye needed all his calm and resolve to keep tempers from boiling over.
Botswana draw first blood

Botswana on the attack.The game between Swaziland and Botswana kicked off yesterday on a perfect day for Rugby. Botswana arrived early and from the start of their warm up routine it was obvious they meant business. From the kick off the Tswana's took the game to Swaziland who seemed shell shocked at the agression and speed of the visitors. Botswana had size and speed on the Swazi's and used them to full advantage.
Inter Varsity Rugby Games kicks off today
Last updated on Mon, 2010-03-01 13:50. Posted inThe Inter Varsity Games played between, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland kicked off today at 3pm in Malkerns home of the Vondo's Rugby Club. The first game will see the hosts Swaziland up against arch rivals, Botswana. Swaziland Rugby Union Vice Chairman, Sibusiso Nkambule met with all three teams before the kick off of the first game and wished them all "Good luck" The second game will be played tomorrow with Botswana taking on Lesotho and the final game will be on Wednesday with Swaziland up against Lesotho.
CAR Trophy Tournament South

The tournament to be played in Gaborone, Botswana kicks off on Monday July 20th and ends on Saturday July 25th. Rugby Unions participating in the tournament are: Botswana, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, Swaziland Tanzania Zambia and Zimbabawe.
Rugby Union announce Training Squad

Posted inSwaziland Rugby Union President announced the National Training Squad for the up and coming Confederation of African Rugby Tournament to be held at the end of July in Gaborone, Botswana. The thirty six man training squad will be training together for the next nine weeks with the final playing squad to be announced at the end of June.
