The U/19's 7's season kicked off with a tournament held at the Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini. Three local clubs and one invited team from South Africa too0k part in the tournament.

Schools from around the country are contact the Swaziland Rugby Union to join up for the Inter Schools Rugby Tournment planned for 2012. The coach in charge of the Inter Schools Rugby Tournament, Matthew du Pont said he was taken by suprise with the reaction from the schools. " We knew the Inter Schools Rugby Tournament would be popular, but the interest has been amazing. We receive phonecalls on a daily basis from schools applying to join the tournament...

 

 

 

The Swaziland Rugby Union will be holding a Girls Inter Schools 7's Rugby Tournament on the afternoon of Monday April 2nd at the Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini. Naomi du Pont head of Coaching and Development made the announcement today at the Rugby Union offices. We will be inviting six schools to participate in the 7's Rugby Tournament. These schools will be from Luve, Mankayane and Manzini. The interest shown by the schools and players for a Girls 7's Rugby Tournament has been very high.

.The Inyeti 7's planned for Friday March 30th has been moved to Friday April 13th. The reason for the moving of the date was due to the fact that the Swaziland Rugby Union were informed by Millinium Projects the company in charge of the Mavuso Sports Centre that extensive maintenance needs to be done on the playing field.

The Swaziland Rugby Union have announced their intention to hold national squad rugby training over the next three month in preparation for the up and coming Test Matches against Botswana in June and August. Head of Coaching Naomi du Pont made the announcement today at the rugby union offices. "The Malayisha National Rugby League was completed on Saturday, so now we can concentrate on national training and preparing the squad for Botswana"

Try time Hippo's against the SCOTIANZ KingsThe last two fixtures of the 2011/2012 Malayisha National Rugby League were played over the weekend at the UNISWA Sports Ground in Kwaluseni. The first game saw the Hippo's from Dvokolwako take on the Scotianz Kings from the Swaziland College of Technolgy in Mbabane.

Sam Dudman Jones with Matthew du PontSam Dudman Jones a volunteer who will be working with the SKRUM Programme and assisting the Swaziland Rugby Union arrived in the country on Sunday. Sam will be in Swaziland for six weeks.

Phumlani Gumedze with his LV-SOSKitaid kitA rather surprised Phumlani Gumedze came forward to collect his LV-SOSKitaid after being named Man of the Match following the Scotianz Kings v Vondos match. All four match officials voted for Phumlani for his all over performance.
